A+Technical Description
The Clausing A45 Upright Drill Press features a robust design with a 30.31-inch swing and a powerful 2.95 horsepower motor. It has a large 22" x 19.5" precision ground table with 1/2" T-slots cored on 9" centers, supported by a 66" tall, 4" diameter column with 3/16" wall thickness for exceptional rigidity. The quill measures 2-1/2" in diameter with a 6-1/2" travel and a 3MT spindle taper, allowing accurate drilling and tapping operations. Spindle speeds are infinitely variable from 50 to 2000 rpm, governed by a countershaft drive with three V-belts and a cog belt, enabling versatile machining from small holes to large bore drilling. The maximum feed speed reaches up to 250 inches per minute, complemented by a thread-adjustable depth stop ensuring depth accuracy within ±0.001". Safety and ergonomics are prioritized with an emergency stop button, drill guard with microswitch, mesh-top belt guard, LED high-visibility numerals, and a work light. The machine supports forward/reverse spindle direction with a reversible switch, automatic tool ejector, and low voltage power protection with reset capability. Control power is supplied at 220/230 volts, 50/60 Hz, with a thermomagnetic switch for motor protection. Advanced features include a USB port for importing NC programs, storage for up to 99 programs, a manual pulse generator (MPG) wheel, and analog spindle output of 0-10 VDC. The quill can deliver a maximum force of 1250 lbs, supporting precision tasks with maximum pecks per hole of 1400, making the Clausing A45 ideal for demanding industrial drilling requirements.
