Technical Description
This CNC machining center features a 6 HP frequency spindle motor with an NST #40 taper, capable of speeds up to 4,000 RPM with a high/low shifter for versatile machining. It includes 3-axis DC servo drive motors providing precise control across X (40"), Y (22"), and Z (20") axes, supported by 1-1/4" precision ground ball screws with double nuts and laser compensation to ensure high accuracy and repeatability. The rigid Meehanite cast construction, hardened & ground table with center T slot, and hardened & ground box ways coated with Turcite-B contribute to durability and precise linear motion.
Class 7 spindle bearings enhance spindle stability and longevity. The machine supports a maximum table load of 1,800 lbs on its 13" x 58" worktable, with a quill travel of 6" and spindle-to-table distance adjustable from 3-3/8" to 25-3/8". It offers rapid feed rates of 160 IPM and cutting feed rates up to 120 IPM.
The control system utilizes 32-bit PC-based DSP technology with 600 blocks per second processing speed, over 600 MB program storage, and supports "no pause" high-speed 3D contouring with simultaneous 3-axis machining. It features conversational and Fanuc-style G & M code programming, canned cycles (drill, facing, pocketing), cutter radius compensation, teach mode, 3D tool path graphics, and math help.
Additional functional features include a built-in coolant system with pump, auto lubrication, quartz work light, chip tray, RS-232, mouse and parallel ports, floppy drive, with optional probing and digitizing cycles for enhanced automation and precision machining. The unit weighs 5,200 lbs and occupies a floor space of 120" x 68" x 100".
