A+Technical Description
The CUBIC SD-12 Horizontal Machining Center is a compact, high-precision CNC lathe designed for small parts production with a max turning diameter and bar diameter of 0.500" and maximum turning length of 8.850". It features a single main spindle capable of 10,000 RPM with 3.00 HP and a sub spindle also rated at 0.500" diameter, 8.850" length, 6,000 RPM, and 3.00 HP. The machine is equipped with two primary tool carriers: a top slide front carrier supporting up to 10 turning and 6 rotary tools, and an ID slide front-rear carrier with up to 10 turning and 3 rotary tools. Rotary tools operate at a maximum speed of 6,000 RPM with 2.00 HP each. Up to three cutting tools can simultaneously operate, enhancing productivity. The machine offers versatile secondary mill/drill functions with on-center, off-center, C-axis, and Y-axis capabilities, integrated in the standard 7-axis CNC control setup. This configuration enables complex and precise machining of parts, combining turning and milling operations efficiently in a cost-effective platform targeted for high-efficiency, small part production. The SD-12 is engineered for flexibility and high-speed cutting, with robust tool capacity and precise spindle control, suitable for precision manufacturing environments demanding tight geometric and surface finish tolerances.
