A+Technical Description
The CUBIC SD-16 Horizontal Machining Center is a high-precision CNC Swiss-type lathe engineered for complex, multi-axis machining of small to medium-sized parts. It features a main spindle with a maximum turning diameter of 0.650" and a turning length of 8.850", capable of bar feeding up to 0.650" diameter. The main spindle operates at speeds up to 10,000 RPM with 3.0 HP, while the sub-spindle matches the same diameter and length capacity, running at up to 6,000 RPM with 3.0 HP. The machine is equipped with two tool carriers: a top slide front (primary) supporting up to 10 turning tools and 6 rotary tools (2.0 HP, 6,000 RPM), and an ID slide front-rear (secondary) with up to 10 turning tools and 3 rotary tools (2.0 HP, 6,000 RPM). Up to three tools can cut simultaneously, enabling efficient multi-tasking. The SD-16 offers on-center, off-center, C-axis, and Y-axis milling and drilling as standard, providing full flexibility for complex geometries. With a total of 7 axes, the machine delivers exceptional accuracy and versatility for intricate part production. The CNC control system ensures smooth operation, while the robust design and high-speed spindles make it ideal for industries requiring tight tolerances and high repeatability, such as medical, aerospace, and automotive.
