The DMG MORI CTX Gamma 2000 TC Horizontal Machining Center is a high-precision turn-mill machine designed for complex, multi-axis machining of large parts. It supports a maximum workpiece turning diameter of 27.6 inches (700 mm) and a turning length of up to 80.7 inches (2050 mm), with a maximum bar diameter capacity of 5 inches (127 mm). The main spindle operates at speeds up to 4,000 RPM, delivering approximately 67 HP, while the sub spindle achieves speeds up to 20,000 RPM for high-speed machining applications. The rotary tool spindle can reach up to 10,000 RPM. The machine features 3-axis standard travel with optional 4-axis capabilities, boasting rapid traverse rates of 1,968 inches per minute (50 m/min) on X, Y, and Z axes, with travel lengths of 31.5" (X), 16.5" (Y), and 80.7" (Z) respectively. The cutting tools are mounted on an automatic tool changer with 36 stations. The CTX Gamma 2000 TC incorporates high-rigidity design with linear drives enabling acceleration up to 1g for superior precision and thermal stability through liquid cooling of key components. It supports simultaneous 5-axis machining for complex geometries, facilitated by the B-axis spindle with a precise TRIFIX quick-change system. The machine integrates Siemens 840D CNC control for advanced programming and operation, enabling complete 6-sided machining in a single setup with high productivity and minimal tool changeover time. Its compactMASTER turn-mill spindle provides up to 220 Nm torque for effective heavy-duty milling and turning operations, maximizing manufacturing efficiency in aerospace, automotive, and heavy machinery industries.
