The DMG MORI NZX 4000 is a high-performance, multi-axis turning center engineered for large-scale production machining of complex rotating parts. This horizontal production turning machine accommodates workpieces up to 26 inches in diameter and 118.1 inches in length, delivering exceptional machining capacity for shaft and flange applications. The machine features a powerful main spindle rated at 73.80 horsepower with selectable speeds of 2,000 or 1,500 RPM, complemented by optional bar stock capacity up to 11.2 inches in diameter. The NZX 4000 is equipped with dual turrets enabling simultaneous cutting operations and incorporates DMG MORI's proprietary Built-in Motor Turret (BMT) technology on Turret 1, which minimizes heat generation and vibration while delivering milling capability equivalent to a No. 40 taper spindle machining center with 86.2 ft./lbf torque. The machine offers flexible axis configurations with up to seven axes available for complex 5-sided machining operations. Its robust trapezoidal bed design provides 50% increased rigidity compared to previous models, with 1.5 times wider slideways on all axes, ensuring superior stability and accuracy during demanding production runs.
