Technical Description

The EMCO Maier HYPERTURN 45 is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for dynamic, precise turning and milling operations. It features two integrated, water-cooled main and sub spindles, each with a maximum speed of 7,000 RPM and a drive power of 20 HP (with an option for 38.9 HP), enabling handling of bar stock up to 1.77" in diameter and a turning diameter up to 11.81". The spindles provide up to 100 Nm torque, enhancing cutting capability. The system includes dual 12-station tool turrets, supporting up to 12 turning and 12 rotary tools per turret, with rotary tools rated at 5 HP and 6,000 RPM, enabling simultaneous use of two cutting tools for complex multi-axis machining. This 7-axis machine has a travel capacity of 6.3" (X-axis), 2.76" (Y-axis), and 4.13" (Z-axis), with rapid traverse rates of up to 1,179 inches per minute on all axes, delivering exceptional responsiveness and efficiency. The Y-axis allows off-center milling and drilling functions with C and Y-axes, increasing machining versatility. The machine’s compact design supports a maximum swing over bed of 16.93" and swing over cross slide of 11.81", with a maximum part length of approximately 18.9". Controlled by advanced CNC systems, it integrates a stable Y-axis, digital process assistants, and a thermo-symmetrical construction to maximize machining precision and reliability in demanding production environments. This makes the HYPERTURN 45 ideal for the efficient machining of complex, high-precision parts requiring multi-tasking capabilities.
