A+Technical Description
This CNC vertical machining center features a 30" x 15" table capable of supporting workpieces up to 2,000 lbs. It has a standard 3-axis configuration (X: 26" travel, Y: 16" travel, Z: 20" travel with optional extension to 26") with rapid traverse rates of 1,400 ipm and max feed rates of 790 ipm. The vertical spindle utilizes a CAT #40 BIG-PLUS taper, running up to 10,000 RPM with a 15 HP motor rated for 30 minutes. The BIG-PLUS spindle system provides dual-contact between the spindle taper and spindle face, significantly enhancing tool rigidity, machining accuracy, surface finish, and tool life by reducing axial movement and deflection during heavy cuts. This system also improves automatic tool changer (ATC) repeatability and reduces wear on tool holders. Tooling is managed by a 24-tool dual-arm ATC, allowing efficient tool changes. Optional support for additional rotary or index tables and pallet changers is available, enabling flexible workholding and automation enhancements. The CAT #40 BIG-PLUS interface meets strict dimensional tolerances per ASME B5.50 standards, ensuring precise, repeatable tool clamping and compatibility with existing CAT40 tooling. The machine is designed for precise high-rigidity machining applications requiring stable, accurate vertical milling of medium to large workpieces with heavy load capacity and flexible tooling options for enhanced productivity. This combination of a robust work envelope, powerful spindle, and advanced tooling interface suits demanding manufacturing environments in aerospace, automotive, and molds industries.
