Technical Description

This CNC vertical machining center features a robust worktable measuring 41.3" x 23.6" capable of supporting workpieces up to 2,200 lbs. It offers optional support for index and rotary tables to enhance setup flexibility. The machine is equipped with a vertical spindle compatible with BT40 taper, with an option for CAT40 taper, operating at speeds up to 10,000 RPM standard and up to 15,000 RPM optionally. The spindle motor delivers 15 HP with a 30-minute rating, upgradeable to 20 HP for higher power needs. Tool management is handled via an Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) accommodating 24 tools by default, extendable to 40, with rapid tool change times of 2.5 seconds and chip-to-chip change in 5.5 seconds. Optionally, a pallet changer is available to facilitate automated workpiece swapping. The machine operates on 3 axes (X, Y, Z), providing travel distances of 33.5", 23.6", and 20.1" respectively, all capable of feed rates up to 394 inches per minute and rapid traverse at 1,260 inches per minute. The spindle and tooling setup ensures high-speed precision machining with a spindle taper suitable for high stability and balance at speed, particularly with BT40 tooling that offers symmetrical taper geometry and metric pull stud threads for better dynamic performance. The machine is designed for high rigidity, efficient tool changes, and flexible workholding options, making it suitable for a wide range of milling applications requiring substantial workpiece capacity and precise control.
