Technical Description

The Fives Cincinnati MEGA 800 Horizontal Machining Center is a high-performance CNC machine designed for heavy-duty, precision machining of large and complex parts. It features a horizontal spindle with an HSK-100A taper (KM80 optional), offering up to 6,000 RPM as standard with an optional boost to 24,000 RPM, supported by a 60 HP motor (25 HP optional) to deliver robust cutting power. The machine includes a 4-axis configuration with an optional 5th axis (U-axis), and a standard rotary B-axis table capable of 360° rotation that supports workpieces up to 4,840 lbs. The standard table measures 31.4" x 31.4", with an optional extended size of 31.4" x 39.3". It provides substantial X-Y-Z travels of approximately 56.1", 57.0", and 49.8", respectively, with a rapid feed rate of 2,358 ipm ensuring high-speed material removal. The MEGA 800 is equipped with an automatic tool changer holding 30 tools as standard, expandable up to 320, and optional pallet changers accommodating 2 pallets standard or up to 10 pallets, enhancing flexibility and productivity. Its rigid construction and dual ball screw drives deliver high stability and accurate contouring for machining hard metals, including steel and titanium.
