A+Technical Description
The FPT M-ARX is a heavy-duty horizontal machining center designed for large-scale precision machining. It features a robust 39.37" x 39.37" table (optionally up to 78.74" x 78.74") that supports a maximum workpiece weight of 14,000 lbs. This 4-axis CNC machine (expandable to 5 axes) utilizes a #50 taper horizontal spindle with a top speed of 3,000 RPM and 65 HP (30-minute rating) for powerful and efficient material removal. The spindle is driven by a 48 kW motor, optimized for stability and continuous operation. The machine incorporates a 100-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) ensuring minimal downtime during tool switches. Axis travels include 236" (X), 47.24" (Y), and 78.74" (Z) with rapid traverse rates up to 472 inches per minute, facilitating high productivity. The M-ARX also benefits from advanced hydrostatic slide technology named MACHES, patented by FPT, providing dynamic load balancing and precise compensation for mechanical and thermal flexion of the machine’s main bodies. This technology enhances accuracy and rigidity during extended operations. Additional features often integrated include CNC control systems such as Heidenhain TNC 640i or SELCA S 4045 PD, high-pressure coolant, and operator platforms for ease of use. The M-ARX's modular design with optional extended tables and axes makes it ideal for heavy machining tasks including boring, milling, and complex multi-axis operations on large workpieces in automotive, aerospace, and heavy equipment manufacturing sectors.
