Technical Description

The Fryer TC-160H is a horizontal traveling column machining center designed for high-capacity production and job shop applications. This machine features a fixed table with load capacity exceeding 10,000 lbs, enabling versatile part fixturing for large and complex components. The TC-160H offers substantial cutting envelope dimensions with 160 inches of X-axis travel, 24 inches of Y-axis travel, and 24 inches of Z-axis travel, accommodating workpieces up to 160 inches in length on its 24-inch-wide pallet. Powered by a 40 horsepower motor, the machine is equipped with a rugged 40 taper (50 taper optional) horizontal spindle delivering 155 ft-lbs of torque, with a maximum spindle speed of 6,000 RPM. The innovative traveling column design provides high rigidity linear ways and a precision Swiss-made rack and pinion drive for the X-axis, ensuring accuracy and vibration dampening. The machine features fast 1,000 IPM rapid feedrates and includes a 24 or 40 tool arm-type automatic tool changer for enhanced productivity. Control is managed through a Siemens or Fanuc CNC system with conversational or G-code programming capabilities, allowing rapid setup and operation in toolroom and job shop environments. Air pressure requirements are 90 PSI at 5 CFM, with a 100-gallon coolant capacity and 5 GPM coolant flow. Power requirements are 35 AMP at 400-500 VAC three-phase, with optional 80 or 125 AMP service.
