A+Technical Description
The Haas VF-5/40TR is a high-performance 5-axis vertical machining center designed for versatile and efficient production. It features a robust 50" x 26" table capable of supporting workpieces up to 200 lbs, with full 5-axis contouring enabled by a removable 2-axis trunnion rotary table. The vertical spindle utilizes a CT 40 taper (optional BT 40), delivering up to 30 hp and a maximum speed of 8,100 rpm (optional 10,000 rpm), ensuring strong torque and high-speed capability for a wide range of materials. Tooling is managed by a side-mount tool changer (SMTC) with standard 24-tool capacity (optional 25 tools), achieving rapid tool changes in 2.8 seconds and chip-to-chip in 3.6 seconds. The machine offers extensive travel: 50" on X, 26" on Y, and 25" on Z, with rapid traverse rates of 710 ipm on all linear axes. The A-axis provides ±120° tilt and the B-axis offers 360° rotation, enabling complex multi-sided machining. The VF-5/40TR is equipped with advanced features including high-speed machining software, programmable coolant nozzle, automatic chip auger, rigid tapping, and a 15" color LCD monitor with USB and Ethernet connectivity. Designed and built in the USA, this machining center delivers outstanding value, precision, and flexibility for demanding shop environments.
