Technical Description

The Haas VF-6/40TR is a versatile 5-axis vertical machining center engineered for high-performance production and complex multi-sided part fabrication. Built in the USA, this machine features a robust working envelope of 64" x 32" x 30" (X, Y, Z axes respectively), providing substantial capacity for medium to large workpieces. The machine is equipped with a 30 HP vector drive spindle capable of 8,100 RPM, delivering efficient cutting performance across diverse materials and applications. The 24+1 side-mount automatic tool changer ensures rapid tool changes and uninterrupted production cycles, while the CAT-40 taper provides industry-standard tool compatibility. The removable 2-axis trunnion rotary table with ±120° A-axis and 360° B-axis rotation enables full 5-axis contouring capabilities, allowing workpieces to be positioned at virtually any angle for complex machining operations. The trunnion table can be easily removed when jobs require only 3-axis machining, providing operational flexibility. Control is managed by a HAAS 32-bit CNC system featuring a 15" color LCD monitor, wireless intuitive probing system capability, rigid tapping, coordinate rotation and scaling, and high-speed machining software. Additional features include rapid traverse rates of 540/600/600 IPM (X/Y/Z), automatic chip auger, programmable coolant nozzle, and a 95-gallon flood coolant system. This machine represents an excellent value proposition for shops requiring reliable 5-axis capability with proven Haas technology and support.
