A+Technical Description
The HELLER HF 3500 is a high-performance 5-axis horizontal machining center engineered for precision and productivity in demanding production environments. With a robust cast iron machine bed and a rigid steel traveling column, the HF 3500 delivers exceptional stability and accuracy for complex machining tasks. The machine features a horizontal spindle orientation and a moving trunnion table, enabling dynamic 5-axis kinematics with the fifth axis integrated into the workpiece for optimal reach and flexibility. Axis travels are 27.953 inches (710 mm) in X, 29.528 inches (750 mm) in Y, and 27.953 inches (710 mm) in Z, providing ample workspace for a wide range of components. The pallet measures 15.748 inches (400 mm) in width and 19.685 inches (500 mm) in length, supporting efficient workpiece handling and automation. The HF 3500 is equipped with a high-precision HSK-A 63 tool holder as standard, with HSK-A 100 available as an option, and offers spindle speeds up to 30,000 RPM for both high-speed and high-torque applications. Direct, absolute, and integrated measuring systems on all axes ensure consistent positioning accuracy, while advanced thermal management—including chilled spindles, drives, and control cabinets—minimizes thermal drift. The machine’s gantry drive, reinforced with a counter bearing and optional second ballscrew, enhances rigidity and damping. Designed for seamless integration into automated workflows, the HF 3500 supports pallet changers and table loading, making it ideal for high-volume, high-mix production environments.
