The Heller Machine Tools CT 8000 is a robust 5-axis horizontal machining center designed for high precision and versatile machining of large workpieces up to 4,400 lbs. It features a substantial table size of 43.3" x 43.3" with a rotary table as standard, enabling complex part manipulation and high flexibility in production. The spindle is horizontally oriented with an SK 50 taper (optional HSK A-100), delivering up to 8,000 RPM standard and optionally 12,500 RPM, powered by an 80 HP motor with an optional upgrade to 106 HP for enhanced cutting performance. The machine offers rapid axis travel speeds up to 1,965 inches per minute across X (49.2"), Y (49.2"), and Z (55.1") axes, supporting efficient material removal. Its A and B rotary axes provide 195° and full 360° rotation, respectively, allowing comprehensive 5-axis machining capabilities. The tool magazine accommodates 54 tools standard, expandable up to 400, with a chip-to-chip tool change time of 6.3 seconds. The CT 8000 is constructed with a gantry-style traversing column and a cast iron base for maximum stiffness and vibration damping, ensuring precision and repeatability.
