Technical Description

The Horkos TM80H is a high-performance horizontal machining center featuring a 3-axis configuration with an optional 4-axis upgrade. It has travel capabilities of 25.6 inches (650 mm) each on the X, Y, and Z axes, with a maximum feed rate of 393 inches per minute and rapid traverse speeds up to 2,360 inches per minute. The spindle is horizontal with a BT40 taper and an optional HSK-A63 taper, capable of running at speeds up to 12,000 RPM. The standard spindle power rating is 20 HP for 30-minute operation, with an optional upgrade to 30 HP for increased machining capacity. Tool handling is managed by a 24-position automatic tool changer (ATC), with an optional expansion to hold up to 124 tools. Tool change time is rapid, at 2 seconds per tool and 3.9 seconds chip to chip. The machine supports optional rotary and index tables for enhanced workpiece support, as well as an optional pallet changer with two pallets for increased automation and productivity. The TM80H’s robust construction incorporates a twin column design for enhanced rigidity and energy efficiency, contributing to faster acceleration and improved accuracy. This machine is controlled by a FANUC CNC system and offers precision machining with positional accuracy typically around 0.1 mm. Weighing approximately 30,000 kg, the TM80H is suited for large-scale production requiring stable, high-speed, and versatile horizontal milling operations.
