HOWA HQ40 HORIZONTAL MACHINING CENTER

The HOWA HQ40 is a 4-axis horizontal machining center designed for precision metalworking with a compact footprint. It features a BT30 spindle taper with dual RPM configurations: standard 10,000 RPM and optional 15,000 RPM, delivering 7.0 HP at 30-minute rating. The machine accommodates workpieces up to 220 lbs on a 12" × 12" work table with horizontal spindle orientation. The XYZ axes provide 16 inches of travel each with maximum rapid traverse rates of 1,890 ipm and programmable feed rates up to 394 ipm. The B-axis offers full 360-degree continuous rotation for multi-directional machining capabilities. The automatic tool changer (ATC) magazine stores 36 tools with exceptionally fast tool change times of 1.0 second tool-to-tool and 2.7 seconds chip-to-chip, minimizing cycle interruptions. The standard pallet changer system includes two pallets, enabling seamless part loading and unloading while the machine operates, significantly improving throughput. This configuration makes the HQ40 ideal for complex multi-sided component machining, including aerospace, automotive, and industrial parts requiring precision angles and intricate geometries.
