A+Technical Description
This vertical machining center features a robust 30" x 20" table capable of supporting workpieces up to 3,000 lbs, designed for heavy-duty and precision machining. The machine operates with 3 axes (X: 24", Y: 20", Z: 24") offering a maximum feed and rapid traverse rate of 1,260 ipm on each axis, ensuring efficient and fast material removal. The vertical spindle supports CAT 40 / Big Plus® (CAT/BT 40) taper tooling, with an optional BT #40 taper, providing enhanced rigidity and accuracy through the BIG-PLUS dual contact spindle system, which simultaneously contacts the tool holder flange and spindle taper for reduced deflection and improved tool life. The spindle runs up to 12,000 RPM with a 12 HP motor rated for 30 minutes, suitable for high-speed milling applications. Tool management is facilitated by a 30-position automatic tool changer (ATC) employing a swing arm mechanism for quick tool swaps without a pallet changer option. The machine does not include a U-axis rotary option, streamlining its 3-axis functionality. Optional support tables and rotary tables can be integrated for enhanced workpiece stability and multi-axis machining capabilities. The machine’s rigid construction and Big Plus spindle system optimize surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and repeatability, making it suitable for demanding applications in aerospace, automotive, mold making, and heavy machinery industries. The high feed rates combined with precise spindle tooling provide a balance of speed, rigidity, and precision for varied metal cutting tasks.
