A+Technical Description
This vertical machining center features a 40" x 20" worktable capable of supporting workpieces up to 3,000 lbs, offering robust capacity for heavy-duty machining. It operates with a 3-axis configuration (X, Y, Z), each axis providing travels of 24" x 20" x 24" respectively, with consistent maximum feed and rapid traverse rates of 1,260 inches per minute, enabling efficient and precise machining operations. The vertical spindle supports CAT40 / Big Plus® tooling tapers, delivering up to 12,000 RPM and an 18 HP motor (30-minute rating), providing substantial spindle power for a wide range of milling applications. The Big Plus® dual-contact spindle system enhances rigidity by providing simultaneous contact between the spindle taper and flange face, significantly reducing tool deflection, improving surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and tool life. The machine uses a 30-tool capacity arm-type automatic tool changer (ATC Swing Arm) ensuring flexible and continuous operation, though no pallet changer or U-axis rotary axis is included. Optional support for indexing or rotary tables expands versatility. This machine is optimized for high precision, heavy load capacity, and durable performance in demanding manufacturing environments. The Big Plus® system also enhances ATC repeatability and minimizes Z-axis movement at high speeds, providing superior machining accuracy and extended spindle life. Overall, it is well-suited for complex and heavy milling tasks requiring stable, fast, and precise machining on sizable workpieces.
