The HYUNDAI WIA HS4000i is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for precision and productivity. It features a robust reverse “T” bed construction and a massive Meehanite cast iron bed, providing excellent rigidity and thermal stability during machining operations. The machine offers travel ranges of approximately 25.2 inches (X-axis), 22.0 inches (Y-axis), and 25.6 inches (Z-axis), suitable for medium-sized workpieces. Powered by a built-in 33.5 horsepower (25 kW) spindle motor, it delivers a maximum spindle speed of 12,000 RPM, with a BBT #40 taper for tool holding. The spindle incorporates double row angular contact ball bearings and an oil jacket cooler to maintain precision and durability under heavy-duty machining. The HS4000i is equipped with a 40-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) using the latest servo technology, enabling minimal tool change time and enhanced productivity. The pallet system measures 15.75 inches square, and the machine supports an automatic pallet changer with direct turn operation and accurate 4-cone type pin clamping, allowing efficient workpiece exchange. The machine operates on three axes controlled by a FANUC CNC system, providing precise motion and programmability with rapid traverse rates up to 60 m/min for all axes.
