Technical Description

The Hyundai WIA KH80G is a high-performance horizontal machining center engineered for heavy-duty metal cutting and precision machining. It features a 31.5" x 31.5" T-type table supporting workpieces up to 4,850 lbs, optimized with a dual-pallet shuttle-type automatic pallet changer for enhanced productivity. The machine operates on 3 linear axes (X, Y, Z) with travels of 49.2", 39.4", and 33.5" respectively, each providing rapid traverse speeds up to 709 IPM (18 m/min). At its core is a powerful horizontal spindle with a 50 taper (CAT 50 standard, HSK-A100 optional), driven by a 35 HP (26 kW) motor delivering up to 4,500 RPM (optional up to 6,000 RPM) and featuring a 3-step geared drive for high torque and stability across speeds. Spindle accuracy and rigidity are ensured via a dual contact spindle option and an oil jacket cooling system, minimizing thermal displacement through a thermally symmetrical column design and Meehanite cast iron bed. The tool management system includes a fixed address automatic tool changer with an 80-tool capacity (expandable to 120), 3.5-second tool change time, and a 9.5-second chip-to-chip cycle. Axis guideways combine LM guides on X and Z axes for smooth motion and box guides on the Y axis for heavy load stability.
