A+Technical Description
The INDEX TRAUB C200 is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for fast, precise production turning of bar stock with two identical motor spindles, each delivering 33.5 HP and up to 5,000 RPM. It supports a maximum spindle turning diameter of 8.7", turning length of 9.9", and a maximum bar diameter of 2.6". The machine features two turrets—an upper and a lower turret—each capable of holding up to 14 turning and 14 rotary tools, allowing simultaneous use of up to three cutting tools. The rotary tools operate at 8,000 RPM with 8.7 HP, enhancing multi-axis machining capabilities. The C200 offers 8 axes of motion including X (4.3"), Y (4.0"), and Z (12.6") travels, enabling complex milling and drilling functions on and off-center with 'C' and 'Y' axis capabilities integrated as standard. Rapid traverse speeds reach 1,180 ipm on all linear axes, supported by high acceleration of 1g and the patented INDEX SingleSlide guide system for optimal vibration damping. Control options include Siemens 840D or Fanuc 31i, with an intuitive multi-touch interface and iXpanel operating system designed for Industry 4.0 readiness. The machine boasts a compact footprint with a spacious working area, permitting quick tool indexing, extensive tool capacity, and ergonomic access for setup. This configuration establishes the C200 as a versatile, simultaneous multi-turret production machine for cost-effective, dynamic, and precise machining of medium-complexity components.
