Technical Description

The INDEX TRAUB MS22C-8 Horizontal Machining Center is a high-performance eight-spindle CNC multi-spindle lathe designed for complex and highly precise machining tasks. It features eight independently driven main spindles with maximum turning diameters and bar diameters of 0.860 inches and a maximum turning length of 3.350 inches per spindle. Each main spindle operates at speeds up to 10,000 RPM, with power ratings of approximately 11.7 HP, while the sub-spindle delivers 12.3 HP at the same speed. The machine supports up to 16 simultaneous cutting tools distributed across multiple tool carriers, including up to 15 turning and 8 rotary tools on the primary slides and additional backworking tools on the secondary carrier, enabling versatile machining capabilities such as turning, drilling, milling, threading, and hobbing. The MS22C-8 includes up to two swiveling synchronous spindles with hydrostatic bearings for wear-free operation and high stiffness, allowing simultaneous front and rear-end machining on bar diameters up to 24 mm.
