THIS IS A JET 13X40 GEARED HEAD ENGINE LATHE. ORIGINALLY A 3-PHASE LATHE, IT HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO RUN ON EITHER 3-PHASE OR SINGLE PHASE POWER VIA A VFD. CURRENT CONFIGURATION IS SINGLE PHASE. THE VFD IS CONTROLLED BY THE FACTORY CONTROL PANEL ON THE FRONT OF THE LATHE. WIRING HAS BEEN CLEARLY LABELED AND ALL PROGRAMMING CHANGES TO THE VFD HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED. THE LATHE HAS NEW CONTROL BUTTONS, SWITCHES, AND AN INDICATOR LED. THE ORIGINAL COOLANT NOZZLE WAS DAMAGED, SO THAT HAS BEEN REPLACED. THE COOLANT PUMP IS A NEW SINGLE PHASE UNIT AND OPERATES INDEPENDENTLY OF THE VFD. THE MOTOR IS THE ORIGINAL 3-PHASE, 3 HP (2.2 KW) ASYNCHRONOUS MOTOR. THE GEAR OIL IN THE HEADSTOCK, GEARBOX, AND APRON HAVE ALL BEEN CHANGED. THE LATHE COMES WITH A NEW LED WORK LIGHT, RUNNING ON 110V POWER. IT HAS A QUICK-CHANGE TOOL POST (250-222) WITH SEVEN TOOL HOLDERS AND A NEW 21 PIECE TOOL SET. THERE IS A LIVE CENTER IN THE TAILSTOCK. I'M INCLUDING A SET OF 3D PRINTED CHANGE GEARS MADE OUT OF PPS-CF10. IT DOES HAVE THE ORIGINAL METAL 25T AND 50T GEARS USED FOR MOST STANDARD THREADS, BUT ANYTHING METRIC WILL REQUIRE THE CHANGE GEARS. THE LATHE ALSO HAS A NEWALL C80 TWO-AXIS DRO. I AM NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE LATHE, BUT IT DOES SEEM TO HAVE BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AND THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF DAMAGE OTHER THAN SOME DENTS AND SCRAPES CONSISTENT WITH A 20+ YEAR OLD MACHINE.
