A+Technical Description
The KAAST A-Turn 250 is a precision 2-axis CNC slant bed lathe engineered for high-performance turning operations. This horizontal machining center features a robust 20 horsepower main spindle capable of 6,000 rpm, enabling maximum cutting diameters of 11.8 inches and lengths up to 22.4 inches with a 6-inch chuck diameter. The machine accommodates bar stock up to 1.7 inches in diameter, making it suitable for diverse production requirements. The 30-degree horizontal slant bed structure provides enhanced stability and accuracy during precision machining tasks. The turret tool carrier supports 8 standard cutting tools, with optional configurations expanding capacity to 10 or 12 tools using 20mm square or 32mm round tool shanks. Optional live tooling capability includes a 3 horsepower rotary spindle spinning at 6,000 rpm, enabling advanced multi-function machining. Rapid traverses of 780 inches per minute on both X and Z axes minimize non-cutting time, while Z-axis travel of 23.6 inches and X-axis travel of 8.7 inches provide ample work envelope. The machine is controlled by a FANUC 0i-TF CNC controller and features standard specifications including a 3-jaw hydraulic chuck, 8.4-inch color LCD monitor, automatic lubrication, and full-enclosed axis way covers. Optional configurations include servo turrets, programmable tailstocks, collet chucks, tool setters, bar feeders, and chip conveyors, accommodating specialized production requirements for short-run and high-precision applications.
