A+Technical Description
The KAAST A-Turn 500 Horizontal Machining Center is a high-performance CNC lathe engineered for heavy-duty turning applications. Featuring a robust one-piece Meehanite slant bed construction, the machine delivers superior rigidity, low center of gravity, and exceptional shock absorption, ensuring high accuracy even under demanding cutting conditions. The main spindle, supported by two roller bearings and an angular ball bearing, is heat-treated and annealed twice for enhanced durability and can achieve a maximum turning diameter of 35.400" and a turning length of 55.000". The spindle chuck diameter is 15.000", with a maximum swing of 40.500" and a bar capacity of up to 5.200". The spindle operates at 2,000 RPM with 40 HP, providing ample power for heavy cuts. The machine is equipped with a turret-style primary tool carrier, supporting up to 12 turning tools and 12 rotary tools, with rotary tool power up to 15 HP and speeds up to 3,000 RPM. It allows for one simultaneous cutting tool and features a 2-axis configuration. Axis travels include 18.500" on the X-axis and 59.000" on the Z-axis, with rapid traverse speeds of 787 ipm on both X and Z axes. The A-Turn 500 is designed for precision, reliability, and versatility in a wide range of industrial turning operations.
