A+Technical Description
The Kitamura MedCenter 5AX is a high-speed, ultra-precision 5-axis vertical machining center engineered for complex, small to medium-sized parts requiring exceptional accuracy and surface finish. With a compact footprint, it features 10 inches (254 mm) of X-axis travel, 13 inches (330 mm) of Y-axis travel, and 13 inches (330 mm) of Z-axis travel, enabling a large work envelope for its class. The machine is equipped with a powerful 30,000 RPM HSK-E40 integral spindle, delivering high torque and precision for demanding applications such as medical, aerospace, and micro machining. Its 40-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) ensures rapid tool changes in just 1.5 seconds, maximizing productivity. The MedCenter 5AX utilizes advanced CNC control technology, including the Arumatik-Mi system, which offers intuitive operation, high-speed processing, and up to 8,190 block look-ahead for smooth, accurate contouring. The machine’s high-accuracy package includes linear and rotary scales, a 67 million pulse encoder system, and 16 mm fine pitch ballscrews for positioning accuracy of ±0.001 mm and repeatability of ±0.0005 mm over the full stroke. Rapid feed rates reach 60 m/min on X and Y axes and 50 m/min on the Z axis, while the A and C rotary axes offer rapid speeds of 36,000°/min and 72,000°/min, respectively. Designed for automation readiness, the MedCenter 5AX supports optional pallet systems and high-capacity tool changers. Its robust construction, advanced feedback systems, and compact design make it ideal for high-precision, high-productivity machining environments.
