Technical Description

The KIWA KH-4100kai is a compact horizontal machining center engineered for high-efficiency multi-kind, small-lot production. Measuring just 1,530mm wide, this space-saving machine features a full rotary B-axis with 510mm strokes on all linear axes (X, Y, Z) and 0-360 degree rotary capability. The machine accommodates workpieces up to 21.7 x 33.5 inches on dual 400x400mm pallets with a 1,100 lb load capacity and rapid pallet changeover in 12.5 seconds. Equipped with a 20 HP spindle delivering 15,000 rpm via direct drive with CAT 40 taper, the machine achieves rapid traverse rates of 3,149 in/min on linear axes and 37 rpm on the B-axis, with cutting feeds to 1,181 in/min. The automatic tool changer manages 60 tools with a lightning-fast 0.9-second tool-to-tool change time, accommodating tools up to 17.6 lbs and 15.7 inches long. Controlled by FANUC 0i-MF Plus CNC, the machine features coolant-through-spindle capability, a wide center-trough chip evacuation system, and an integrated 79.3-gallon coolant tank. At 16,940 lbs, this high-performance horizontal center combines precision engineering with exceptional efficiency, making it ideal for applications requiring four-axis capability and consistent repeatability in production environments.
