Technical Description
The KOVOSVIT MAS MCU 1400V-5X is a high-performance vertical machining center designed for precision 5-axis milling operations. It features a spacious working envelope with X, Y, and Z travel of 55.12 inches, 64.96 inches, and 39.37 inches, respectively, enabling the machining of large and complex workpieces. The machine is equipped with a state-of-the-art CNC control system based on the HEIDENHAIN TNC 640, renowned for its advanced contouring capabilities and high-speed processing. The TNC 640 control supports up to 24 control loops, with up to five axes interpolated simultaneously, ensuring smooth and accurate multi-axis movements. It offers programming flexibility in both HEIDENHAIN Klartext and ISO G-code, along with a comprehensive cycle package for milling and turning operations, including tool radius compensation, touch probe cycles, and free contour programming. The control system features a powerful real-time operating system (HEROS 5), a large color display, and an intuitive operating panel with override potentiometers for feed rate, rapid traverse, and spindle speed. The TNC 640 enables high spindle speeds—up to 100,000 rpm with optional configurations—and implements advanced functions such as Tool Center Point Management (TCPM), 3D tool compensation, and dynamic precision for superior surface finish and contour accuracy. The machine’s digital architecture, utilizing HSCI and EnDat 2.2 interfaces, ensures high data transfer rates, robust noise immunity, and seamless integration with peripheral devices. With its combination of large work area, 5-axis capability, and advanced CNC control, the MCU 1400V-5X is ideal for demanding applications in aerospace, mold and die, and precision engineering industries.
