The Makino A92 Horizontal Machining Center is a high-performance 4-axis CNC machine designed for large and heavy workpieces, particularly in industries such as diesel engine block and construction equipment manufacturing. It features a robust horizontal spindle with a CAT50 taper, optionally HSK-A100, capable of speeds up to 10,000 RPM and powered by a 47 HP motor (30-minute rating). The machine supports a maximum workpiece weight of 2,640 lbs on a 31.5" x 39.4" table, with travels of 59.8" (X), 49.2" (Y), and 53.1" (Z), all capable of rapid traverse rates of 1,969 ipm. The B-axis rotary table offers 360° indexing for complex 4-axis machining. Tool handling is highly efficient with an Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) accommodating up to 316 tools, providing a rapid 1.9-second tool-to-tool change and a 5.4-second chip-to-chip change. A dual-pallet changer system is standard, enhancing uptime and productivity. Optional rotary tables and high-pressure (1,000 PSI) thru-spindle coolant systems further optimize machining versatility and cooling.
