Technical Description

The Makino MCC2013 is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for heavy-duty and high-precision machining, featuring a large table size of 86.6" x 39.4" capable of supporting workpieces up to 22,000 lbs. It utilizes a #50 spindle taper, with an optional HSK100A taper, delivering up to 15,000 RPM standard and optionally 18,000 RPM, powered by a 40 HP motor with a 67 HP upgrade option. The machine includes a 3-axis configuration with optional 4-axis capability and travels of 78.7" (X), 53.1" (Y), and 39.4" (Z), all with rapid traverse rates up to 630 ipm, enabling efficient and extensive machining envelopes. Tool handling is managed via a 30-tool automatic tool changer (ATC), with expansions up to 280 tools and optional pallet changer support. The horizontal spindle orientation and rigidity of the machine, including features like semi-floating slideways and integrated thermal stability systems, allow for high-speed, multi-face machining with excellent surface finish quality and dimensional accuracy. Optional indexing and rotary tables enhance multi-axis machining flexibility. The MCC2013 also supports chip conveyors, coolant through spindle, and advanced control systems (Makino GI.3 or SGI4), contributing to reduced cycle times and improved precision. This machining center is ideal for large die/mold manufacturing and heavy metal cutting requiring stable, accurate, and versatile operation.
