Technical Description

The Makino T1 is a high-performance 5-axis horizontal machining center designed for large, complex parts across aerospace, industrial, and hard metal applications. It features a **39.7" x 39.7" table** supporting workpieces up to **6,614 lbs**. The horizontal spindle uses an **HSK-A100 taper**, delivering up to **12,000 RPM** with a 75 HP continuous rating (100 HP optional), providing robust torque for machining tough materials like titanium and aluminum. The spindle’s **A-axis tilts from -110° to +45° (155° total)**, and a full **360° B-axis rotary table** enables full five-sided access, accommodating parts up to 59" in diameter and 59" high. The machine supports a **60-tool automatic tool changer (optionally expandable to 137 tools)**, with a tool change time of 4 seconds and chip-to-chip time of 14 seconds. Two pallets come standard, with options up to 10, supporting rapid workpiece loading/unloading. The robust axes provide travel of 59.1" (X), 51.2" (Y), and 78.7" (Z) at rapid traverse rates of 984 ipm, enabling high-speed, precise machining. Built with thick Z-axis bed castings, wide slideways, and a deep chest monolithic column, the T1’s rigid structure and Makino’s Active Damping technology ensure exceptional vibration control and stability under heavy cutting loads. The machine incorporates a Fanuc S30i + Pro 5 CNC control system and supports high-pressure through-spindle coolant, chip conveyors, thermal stabilizers, and chillers for temperature regulation, making it a versatile and productivity-optimized machining center for demanding manufacturing environments.
