A+Technical Description
The Makino V33i Vertical Machining Center is a high-performance 3-axis CNC machine designed for precision die and mold applications. It features a robust table measuring 29.5" x 17.7" capable of supporting workpieces up to 660 lbs, ensuring stability during demanding machining operations. The vertical spindle delivers up to 20,000 RPM as standard, with an optional upgrade to 30,000 RPM for high-speed machining, and is equipped with a #40 taper (HSK-A63 optional) for versatile tooling compatibility. The spindle is rated at 20 HP (30-minute rating), with an optional 23 HP configuration for increased power. Integrated core-cooling and under-race lubrication minimize thermal distortion, maintaining accuracy during extended cycles. The machine is equipped with an automatic tool changer (ATC) offering 25 tool pockets (expandable to 60), achieving rapid tool-to-tool change times of 4.8 seconds. Axis travels are 25.6" (X), 17.7" (Y), and 13.7" (Z), with maximum feed rates and rapid traverse speeds of 787 ipm across all axes, enabling fast and efficient material removal. The V33i’s rigid construction, integral guideways, and compact footprint deliver outstanding stiffness, rigidity, and accuracy, making it ideal for high-precision hard milling of complex dies and molds.
