Technical Description
The Matsuura MAM72-70V is a high-performance 5-axis vertical machining center designed for precision and efficiency in complex machining tasks. It offers substantial travel capacities of 47.24 inches (X-axis), 28.34 inches (Y-axis), and 27.95 inches (Z-axis), accommodating a maximum workpiece size of 27.56 by 19.68 inches and a load capacity up to 1,100 lbs. It features a CAT 40 taper spindle capable of speeds from 40 to 15,000 RPM, powered by a spindle motor delivering 15 kW continuous and 22 kW peak power, with a maximum spindle torque of 150/1400 Nm ensuring robust cutting performance. The spindle bearing has an inner diameter of 3.14 inches, enhancing rigidity and accuracy.
Equipped with a rapid traverse rate of 2362.2 inches per minute across X, Y, and Z axes, the machine supports high-speed machining with minimized cycle times. The unit features a large tool magazine with the capacity to hold 330 tools, supporting tools up to 3.14 inches in diameter, 13.77 inches in length, and 10 kg in weight. The 4th and 5th axes enable precise rotational control with zero backlash, high rigidity, and rapid rotation speeds enabled by a roller gear drive and direct drive motor respectively, facilitating complex 5-axis contouring and multi-axis operations.
The machine includes a 19.69 x 19.69 inch pallet working surface for stable workholding and is designed for ergonomic operator access with a short distance from machine front to pallet center (620 mm). Additional features include advanced thermal displacement compensation, spindle load monitoring, coolant systems, and IoT-enabled real-time performance monitoring, making it ideal for continuous, high-precision manufacturing applications in aerospace, automotive, and mold making industries.
