Technical Description
The MAZAK E1550V-II Vertical Machining Center is a high-performance 5-axis machining solution featuring a rotary table/trunnion (5th axis) with precise indexing at 0.0001°. It has a large dual-pallet system, each pallet measuring 55.12" x 55.12", supporting maximum workpiece diameters up to 78.74" and heights up to 58.69". The machine boasts extensive travels with X at 73.82", Y at 61.02", and Z at 52.95", coupled with a rapid traverse rate of 1575 IPM, enabling efficient, large-scale milling operations.
The spindle is a robust BT50 taper type, capable of speeds up to 10,000 RPM driven by a powerful 50 HP motor, suitable for high-speed, high-torque applications. The tool magazine holds 160 tools with a side-mount tool changer supporting versatile tooling setups for complex part machining. The B-axis offers 150° tilting with 0.0001° contouring accuracy, complementing full 5-axis capabilities; the C-axis allows 0.0001° indexing for precise rotational positioning.
Controls include a manual pulse generator and pendant, EIA/ISO code input, integrated Mazak E-Tower, Mazacc 3D high-speed software, and advanced features such as scale feedback systems, fine spline interpolation, and absolute positioning. Additional integrated systems include a spindle chiller, coolant temperature control, hydraulic unit temperature control, flood coolant delivery, chip conveyor, and a work measuring system. The machine also features a 55" 4-jaw independent chuck, supporting both milling and turning operations for diverse manufacturing needs, emphasizing multi-tasking, precision, and automation in processing large and complex workpieces.
