Technical Description

The 2014 Mazak FJV-100/160 is a 3-axis double-column vertical machining center from Yamazaki Mazak's FJV series, one of the largest VMC platforms in Mazak's lineup. Designed for machining very large aerospace structures, energy sector components, and heavy equipment parts, the FJV-100/160 provides a massive work envelope with a table measuring 4,000 x 2,000 mm (157.5" x 78.7") and a maximum workpiece load of 10,000 kg (22,050 lbs). Axis travels are 4,200 mm (165.4") in X, 2,450 mm (96.5") in Y, and 660 mm (26.0") in Z, with the column passage at 2,500 mm (98.4") between uprights. The No. 50 (CAT-50) spindle taper operates up to 10,000 RPM with a motor rated at approximately 40 HP (30 kW), providing both high-speed finishing and high-torque roughing capability. The CNC is the Mazatrol Matrix, Mazak's advanced conversational and EIA/ISO programming platform with high-speed look-ahead contouring, rigid tapping, tool path simulation, and macro programming. The fixed bridge column and wide-spaced guideway system deliver the structural rigidity required for heavy cuts on large structural components in steel, titanium, and aluminum alloys. The FJV-100/160 is the preferred platform for manufacturers requiring maximum work envelope capacity combined with Mazak's precision and productivity technology.
