Technical Description

The Mecof ECOMILL Horizontal Machining Center is a high-capacity, versatile CNC milling machine designed for heavy-duty and large-scale workpieces, supporting up to 33,000 lbs on its standard table size of 225" x 50" (optional up to 385" x 50"). It features a horizontal spindle with a SK 50 taper (optionally HSK-A 100), delivering up to 6,000 RPM with 100 HP (30-minute rating), ensuring robust cutting power for machining heavy materials. The machine is equipped with a 40-tool automatic tool changer (ATC), expandable to 60 tools, and supports optional pallet changers with up to 10 pallets to maximize productivity during complex manufacturing processes. It operates across 3 axes (standard) with an optional 4th axis, providing travel capacities of 236" (optionally 394") on the X-axis, 51" on the Y-axis, and 98" on the Z-axis, all with rapid traverse speeds up to 1,181 inches per minute for efficient high-speed positioning. The machine's rigid construction features a symmetrical column and a "box-in-box" design for the ram and column, enhancing stiffness and precision under heavy cutting loads. Additional support structures like index or rotary tables are available as options to further expand machining flexibility and 5-axis capabilities. The ECOMILL is tailored for aerospace, automotive, and heavy tooling applications, combining high torque and advanced CNC controls such as Heidenhain TNC7 or Sinumerik ONE, ready for Industry 4.0 integration.
