Technical Description

The MICROCUT CNC HBM-140RT is a horizontal machining center with a robust design optimized for heavy-duty boring and milling operations. It features a standard table size of 125" x 125", with an optional increase to 137" x 137", and supports workpieces weighing up to 44,000 lbs. The machine is equipped with a #50 taper spindle capable of 3,000 RPM and 60 HP (30-minute rating), driven horizontally to maximize machining efficiency. The spindle ram has a diameter of 140 mm, with a ram stroke of 800 mm and quill travel of 700 mm, ensuring precise axial motion control. This 4-axis CNC machining center (expandable optionally to 5 axes with a U axis) provides axis travels of 177" (X, optional 256"), 136" (Y, optional 212"), and 78.7" (Z), coupled with a full 360° rotary B-axis. Axis feed and rapid traverse rates reach up to 394 IPM for high productivity. Its tooling system includes an automatic tool changer (ATC) with a 60-tool capacity and 16 seconds tool change time, optimizing job turnaround without a pallet changer. The support table includes a standard indexing mechanism, with an optional rotary table for advanced positioning. Designed for high precision and durability, the HBM-140RT integrates advanced ram and spindle straightness control, heavy-duty Meehanite construction, roller type linear guide ways, and absolute positioning accuracy through linear scales and encoders. Auxiliary features comprise a coolant system, chip augers, telescopic way covers, and automatic lubrication, making it suitable for demanding manufacturing environments. This machining center is compatible with Fanuc 32iMB or Heidenhain iTNC 530 HSCI controls for flexible CNC operation.
