Technical Description

The Microcut CNC HBM-5(T) is a horizontal machining center designed for high-precision boring and milling with a robust T-type construction and a horizontal spindle orientation. It features a large worktable with dimensions of 86.61" x 70.86" (standard) and an optional expansion up to 118" x 125", supporting a maximum workpiece weight of 22,000 lbs. The machine operates with 4 axes standard, including an optional 5th U axis for enhanced flexibility. The spindle uses an ISO #50 taper, runs at speeds up to 3,000 RPM, and is powered by a 60 HP (30-minute rating) motor providing substantial torque for heavy-duty machining tasks. The machine includes a 60-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) with a 16-second tool change time, supporting efficient production cycles. Axis travels are substantial: X-axis up to 137.79" (optional 255.9"), Y-axis 102.36" (optional 169.29"), Z-axis 55.11" (optional 78.7"), and a full 360° B-axis rotary table. The rotary table is optionally supported for indexing and increased versatility. Key features include a Fanuc CNC control system, hardened and ground box ways on the Y-axis for accuracy and rigidity, high-precision ballscrews with linear scales, and an automatic lubrication system. The machine is engineered for large, complex workpieces requiring both boring and milling, with rigid, stable construction and high feed rates (394 ipm rapid traverse), making it suitable for demanding industrial environments requiring precision and reliability.
