Technical Description
The MICROCUT MCG-5X 630 is a high-performance, gantry-type vertical machining center engineered for precision five-axis simultaneous machining. With a working envelope of X: 26.38 inches, Y: 32.28 inches, and Z: 23.62 inches, it delivers robust capacity for complex mold, die, automotive, aerospace, and medical engineering applications. The machine is equipped with a 20 kW motorized spindle capable of reaching up to 24,000 RPM, ensuring high-speed, high-accuracy milling, turning, drilling, and tapping operations. Its core-cooled electronic spindle design enhances thermal stability and prolongs tool life. The MCG-5X features a high-torque, high-precision built-in motor for both the A and C axes, enabling superior torque accuracy and table positioning. The rotary table is available in 630 mm or 800 mm diameter options, supporting versatile workpiece configurations. An easy-opening top door provides convenient access for loading, unloading, and maintenance. The machine integrates a pickup-type automatic tool changer (ATC) with two stations and a 32-pocket configuration, minimizing tool change times and maximizing productivity. Dynamic Collision Monitoring (DCM) actively safeguards against collisions by monitoring all machine motions, including swivel head and table tilt, in both manual and automatic modes. The MCG-5X is controlled by a Heidenhain CNC system, renowned for its reliability, advanced programming capabilities, and intuitive interface, supporting complex contouring, multitasking, and automated inspection cycles. This combination of high-speed performance, precision engineering, and intelligent control makes the MCG-5X 630 ideal for demanding, high-mix, and high-accuracy manufacturing environments.
