Technical Description
This vertical machining center features a large worktable measuring 200" x 80", capable of supporting workpieces weighing up to 5,000 lbs. The table and rotary table supports are available as optional equipment to enhance versatility. It operates on a robust 3-axis system (X, Y, Z) with travels of 200", 80", and 28" respectively, each axis capable of feed rates up to 500 IPM and rapid traverses up to 1,000 IPM. The vertical spindle utilizes a BIG-PLUS® ISO No. 40 taper, enabling dual contact between spindle taper and face for superior rigidity and precision. The spindle delivers a base power of 15 HP (30-minute rating) with an optional upgrade to 24 HP, and spins up to 10,000 RPM standard, extendable to 15,000 RPM for high-speed applications. Tool handling is managed by a 24-position carousel tool changer, supporting efficient multitasking without pallet changing capability. The BIG-PLUS® spindle system ensures enhanced tool holder stiffness, reducing deflection and improving machining accuracy and surface finish. This configuration supports heavy-duty machining with high positional accuracy, high feed rates, and the stability demanded by large, heavy workpieces in complex milling, drilling, and boring operations.
