Technical Description

The Mitsui Seiki HU80A is a versatile horizontal machining center engineered for precision manufacturing of medium to large workpieces. It features a robust 31.5" × 31.5" work table capable of supporting parts weighing up to 5,600 lbs, accommodating maximum workpiece dimensions of 47.2" × 37.4" × 35.4". The machine is equipped with a horizontal #50 spindle operating at a maximum speed of 12,000 rpm, delivering 40 horsepower at 30-minute rating for sustained heavy-duty cutting operations. The three-axis configuration provides extensive travel distances: 47.2" on the X-axis, 37.4" on the Y-axis, and 35.4" on the Z-axis, each with rapid traverse rates reaching 945 ipm and cutting feedrates of 394 ipm. An optional fourth axis (B-axis) rotary table with 360° capability is available for multi-face part machining. The automatic tool changer manages a 60-tool magazine, enabling efficient production workflows. An optional pallet changer system accommodates two pallets, facilitating unmanned operation and reduced setup time. This configuration makes the HU80A suitable for aerospace, automotive, and general industrial applications requiring high rigidity, thermal stability, and repeatability for complex component production.
