Technical Description

The Monarch FBE Horizontal Machining Center is a CNC-controlled, 3-axis machine engineered for precise and versatile metalworking. It features a 39.3-inch Y-axis travel and a 31.4-inch Z-axis travel, enabling machining of large and complex parts. Powered by a 29-horsepower spindle motor, it achieves a maximum spindle speed of 3,500 RPM with a CAT-50 taper, suitable for heavy-duty cutting operations. The machine integrates a 24-tool Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) providing efficient tool management and reduced cycle times. The horizontal configuration includes a sliding ram on the Y-axis and a vertically traveling Z-axis saddle over a full contouring rotary table option, designed to accommodate large ring-like parts and support five-sided machining in a single load cycle. Its movable table design, with RAM-type spindle travel and long X-axis travel up to approximately 118 inches, allows processing of long workpieces. The machine delivers high positioning accuracy with ±0.0003-inch positioning and ±0.00015-inch repeatability. The tool changer supports tools up to 9.84 inches in diameter and 11.8 inches in length, with a maximum tool weight of 33 pounds. The robust 24-tool capacity and quick tool-to-tool change time (around 4.5 seconds) enhance productivity.
