The MONFORTS KNC 1000 is a horizontal machining center engineered for heavy-duty turning and milling operations on large cylindrical workpieces. The machine features a single main spindle with a 1,600 RPM maximum speed and 75 HP output, capable of accommodating workpieces up to 32 inches in diameter and 118 inches in length. The main spindle utilizes a 12-inch chuck diameter with a maximum swing of 43.3 inches, enabling comprehensive machining access around the workpiece perimeter. The machine is equipped with dual tool carrier systems: a Mutifix size D primary carrier supporting up to 4 turning and 4 rotary tools, and a DIN secondary carrier accommodating 8 turning and 8 rotary tools, allowing for flexible tool selection and changeovers. The KNC 1000 operates on a 2-axis control system with X and Z-axis movements, featuring 24.4 inches of X-axis travel and 72.8 inches of Z-axis travel. Both axes deliver identical rapid traverse and feed rates of 157 ipm, ensuring consistent machining performance across different operations.
