A+Technical Description
The MS Machining HMC-300 Horizontal Machining Center features a robust 48" x 48" table sized for large workpieces with a maximum load capacity of 15,000 lbs. It supports high-capacity machining with 4 axes including a full 360° B axis rotary table and travels of 120" (X), 72" standard (90" optional Y), and 58" (Z), enabling versatile machining of large components. The horizontal spindle is a CAT 50 taper with a standard 2,000 RPM top speed, upgradeable to 3,000 RPM, powered by a 30 HP motor rated for 30 minutes of heavy-duty operation, suitable for high-torque cutting. It includes a 48-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) for efficient machining, with an optional capacity of up to 76 tools and an optional pallet changer holding 2 to 4 pallets for improved productivity and reduced setup times. The machine is CNC controlled via a Fanuc i Series system, incorporating high-speed data transfer and advanced servo control for precise, reliable operations. Its construction prioritizes rigidity and durability to maintain accuracy over extended use, with box ways and steel way covers standard. The HMC-300 supports standard indexing tables with optional rotary tables and offers rapid traverse rates of approximately 480 IPM. Available tooling and spindle options allow customization for enhanced metal removal rates and machining versatility. Overall, the HMC-300 is designed for heavy-duty, high-precision horizontal milling, drilling, and boring of large, heavy workpieces with excellent flexibility and automation efficiency.
