Technical Description

The Multiquip AR-13D is a compact, articulated tandem smooth drum roller designed for asphalt and soil compaction in confined or varied job sites. It features dual 35.7-inch wide smooth steel drums with beveled edges to minimize surface marring, delivering a compaction force of 3,100 lbs and a vibration frequency of 4,000 vibrations per minute (vpm). The roller operates with an overall width of 39 inches, allowing close proximity to curbs and walls with a 19-inch curb clearance for flush compaction. Powered by a 23.6 HP Vanguard liquid-cooled diesel engine, the AR-13D supports hydrostatic drive with infinitely variable speeds up to 4.8 mph, providing smooth forward and reverse operation. It includes an articulated joint with power-assist steering for increased maneuverability and an oscillation capability of up to 11 degrees to maintain drum-to-surface contact over uneven terrain. The unit is equipped with a 60-gallon water tank with level sight gauge to facilitate asphalt surface cooling and prevent sticking. Operator visibility is maximized by an open platform design, while engine access is simplified for maintenance. With a total operating weight around 2,556 lbs, the AR-13D is a reliable and productive roller suitable for contractors and municipalities needing efficient compaction in smaller, space-restricted job sites. It comes with warranties covering articulation joints and hydraulic drive motors, enhancing its dependability in construction operations.
