Powered by dual spindle options—either belt-type or direct-drive configurations—the MT-960VS operates at 10,000 RPM, with the direct-drive variant reaching 12,000 RPM for enhanced surface finishing capabilities. The spindle accepts BT40 tool holders and delivers 7.5/11 kW continuous/intermittent power through a 60 mm diameter spindle nose. Feed rates of 10 m/min for cutting and 36 m/min for rapid traverse ensure efficient material removal and reduced cycle times. The machine incorporates an arm-type automatic tool changer with 24-tool magazine capacity, enabling rapid tool changes without interrupting production flow.
