A+Technical Description
The Nakamura-Tome NTX(S) Horizontal Machining Center is a high-precision multitasking machine designed for complex turning and milling operations. It features twin main spindles with maximum turning diameters of 17.32" and turning lengths up to 43.31", equipped with 8" chucks and a max swing of 25.4". Both spindles operate at speeds up to 4,500 RPM with 25 HP motors, supporting bar capacities up to 2.56". The machine includes two primary tool carriers: Turret 1 with up to 24 turning tools and 12 rotary tools powered by 5 HP and spinning up to 3,600 RPM, and a secondary ATC milling spindle with the capacity for 120 turning and rotary tools, delivering 10 HP and speeds up to 6,000 RPM. The NTX(S) supports simultaneous use of two cutting tools across nine axes, enabling highly versatile 5-axis or more machining capabilities. Axial travels include 24.8" on X, 6.3" on Y, and 14.76" on Z, with rapid traverse and max feed rates up to 629 ipm for all axes. This configuration allows for efficient, complex part machining including multi-face, multi-process operations in one setup, improving precision and reducing cycle times. The machine combines rigid horizontal bed design with advanced CNC controls, offering high productivity for automotive, aerospace, and precision engineering applications.
