Technical Description

The NOMURA AUTOMATIC NN-20YB is a high-precision horizontal machining center designed for complex Swiss-type turning and milling operations. It features a main spindle with a maximum turning diameter and swing of 0.790", a turning length of 7.870", and a bar diameter capacity of 0.790". The main spindle operates at up to 10,000 RPM with 5.00 HP, while the sub-spindle also reaches 10,000 RPM and delivers 3.00 HP, enabling efficient secondary operations. The machine is equipped with two tool carriers: a primary slide with up to 6 turning tools and 7 rotary tools (2.00 HP, 6,000 RPM), and a secondary slide with 2 turning and 2 rotary tools (2.00 HP, 6,000 RPM). Only one cutting tool operates simultaneously. Secondary milling and drilling functions are standard on-center and with C and Y axes, with off-center capability as an option. The NN-20YB boasts 8 axes, with X, Y, and Z axis travels of 4.740", 8.100", and 7.870" respectively, and rapid traverse rates of 551 ipm on all three axes.
